FORD Plastic Vacuum Forming and Electroplating Emblem Project

The Ford emblem is designed based on the signature letter "F" of its founder, Mr. Henry Ford. In its early form, it did not have a background color and was directly embossed on the front of the car. Later, to make the emblem more prominent, a blue elliptical background was added. The iconic blue elliptical logo has also evolved continuously with the development of Ford Motor Company.

The most recent significant redesign occurred in 1976, and the revised version is very similar to the current one. The latest Ford emblem, starting with the 100th-anniversary edition released in 2003, features a blue ellipse known as the "Centennial Blue Oval."

After receiving the order for Ford's emblem from Goodbong, the design optimization process focused on enhancing the outlining effect of the lettering and ensuring the color fidelity of the blue background during both daytime and nighttime conditions. Following this, detailed testing and refinement were carried out, and ultimately, a consensus was reached with the client, leading to the commencement of production.

The first step is to create molds with high precision and excellent quality. The second step involves selecting environmentally friendly, high-grade acrylic panels and using vacuum positioning and suction molding techniques to form the emblems. After the molding process, the products undergo cutting, polishing, and cleaning. Following this, vacuum coating, film application, lighting fixtures installation, and other related assembly work are carried out. Finally, quality inspections are performed, and the emblems are packaged, shipped in wooden crates, and delivered to the customer. Along with the delivery, installation instructions, warranty information, and related technical support are provided to ensure precision and durability.
